Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done unto me according to your word.”
(Luke 1:38)

Here I am, Lord. I come to do your will. I echo Mary’s words, “Be it done unto me” three times a day in the Angelus. May I remember to say “Fiat” even when my plans are interrupted. My only real plan is to do your will; my schedules are just guidelines to remind me. They have to be flexible, for you surprise me when I least expect it. Especially in prayer, let me go wherever your Spirit leads me. The structure of the Exercises is just a skeleton to support us when we are dry or searching. You will show us when to move to another step.
