In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Love: God and neighbor as ourselves. To know God is to love all, to forgive as God forgives us.
Joy: To accept God’s love for us.
Peace: To rest in God’s will.
Patience: To wait lovingly, joyfully and peacefully for God to show us.
Kindness: To acknowledge God’s love for all creation
Generosity: To realize that nothing belongs to us; everything we have is a gift to be shared.
Faithfulness: To remember that in God’s love we are never alone, to hope and trust, to choose to obey because we know that God wants only what is good for us.
Gentleness: to recognize the sanctification of God’s world and reverence it.
Self-control: To dedicate all things to God and to use them gratefully for his glory, not for their own sake.
Please, Spirit of truth, on this day when we honor your coming to us and creating your Church, let us live in peace and gratitude.
