… and he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God.”
(Mark 1:24)

You, Lord Jesus, are the Holy One of God. Even the demons know that, though they reject you. The people don’t yet recognize you, but they are moved to faith by your power and authority.
In today’s reading from Deuteronomy we learn that your voice and your light were too much for the Israelites to bear. You promised to send your Word through someone we could understand – your Son and yet one of us. Your light is just as strong now, but we are not blinded by it because you prepare and fortify us.

Oh Holy One, help me to love and acclaim you. I have been lazing in my comfort zone for too long. January is over and our SCC still hasn’t met. I have to reach out to old members and invite new ones. Please let us have our service on Thursday so that we can announce it.

Yesterday at Mass, I realized that I would like to be a lector again, now that I have transportation. Maybe there is a need for a substitute. Please help me to discover whether that is an option.

Now, let be silent in you, the Holy One of God.
