When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have him with me from the beginning.
(John 15:26-27)

Advocate derivation; from ad vocare, to call forth, to summon
One that pleads the cause of another; one that defends or maintains a cause or proposal, on that supports or promotes the interests of another.
(Merriam-Webster)

Spirit of truth, you are called forth from the Father by the Son to defend and support us in following you. You enable us to know and live your will, and to testify about it.

How can I testify to the truth? I see few people, go out infrequently, and live quietly. Yet, in my quest to know you and assert your truth, you prepare me for whatever I might encounter.

As your people, our lives touch even when we do not realize it. We learn more from the actions and demeanor of our neighbors than from their words. If we say, “There goes a child of God,” when we approach one another, we will listen to you and reflect you.

I think of an African greeting I read, “The spirit in me acknowledges the spirit in you.” It helps me to look beyond appearances and learn from others. If something I do or say reminds them of your truth, then I am testifying without knowing it. Work through us all, Lord. Teach and guide us. Thy will be done.
